Overview

Kelvin Eloho is a scientific researcher at Ghent University, Belgium, specializing in wind and water modeling and effects on ships. He earned his MSc in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in 2022, with a thesis focused on RANS prediction of propeller-induced pressure pulses and sheet-tip cavitation interactions. Kelvin has a background in marine engineering, having graduated with a B.Sc. from Rivers State University, Nigeria, in 2017. Since joining Ghent University in 2022, Kelvin has been investigating wind and current effects on ships using both empirical and numerical models. Kelvin's prior experience includes working as a CFD engineer for Chalmers Formula Sailing, where he optimised a boat hull and appendages for hydrodynamic performance. He also served as a naval architect assistant at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard, assisting in hull design, stability calculations, and equipment procurement. His early career involved roles as an engine room assistant and apprentice mechanic, providing a hands-on understanding of marine and mechanical systems.Fluent in programming languages and proficient with various engineering and CAD tools, Kelvin is also an avid cyclist, fitness enthusiast, and chess player. His diverse skills and interests reflect his commitment to innovative and effective solutions in naval architecture and marine engineering.
